Update:(the link above has been updated too.):
They have confirmed 31 fatalities now. It is considered now to be the worst school shooting in U.S. history.

Yeah, when I woke up this morning, I heard about this shooting, and I was worried. They just said that there was a large shooting in Virginia, and I know some people over there. It is ashame that this had to happen.

Yeah, it's pretty shitty. I just hope they don't start trying to blame it on video games or something stupid like that. I mean, the guy was obviously disturbed. He was a creative writing major, and some of his writings were extremely violent and twisted. Supposedly he had been sent to the counselor because of them. He needed psychological help.
This is something that teachers are failing to do; be a part of each student's lives. You have to evaluate that student academically and emotionally. If a student is doing poorly, or is writing about violent themes, someone needs to talk to them and find out why. Sometimes all it takes is one person showing that they care to make a difference in a student's life. This could have possibly been prevented if the teachers would have payed a little more attention to the guy.

Well, one of his professors reported his writings to the authority, but they said there was nothing they could do just because of the content of his writing.

Well, you can't force someone to do something that they don't want to do.

Sometimes it doesn't take force. All it takes is offering.

Actually people attempted to help this kid several times, but to no avail. It was recommended he seek counseling but the police said that there would be too many hurdles to force him to go.
Definitely a messed up situation.

Does any one think conceal carry or harder gun control would of stopped this from happening?

Does any one think conceal carry or harder gun control would of stopped this from happening? meh, not really. if he's not afraid to go around killing people like that, he wouldn't be afraid to break some gun control laws, either. granted it would have been harder to do it, but it likely wouldn't have stopped him. though better gun control definintly wouldn't hurt anybody (except the NRA and gun companies maybe)...

Yeah, it might have just slowed him down, but he would have still been able to get a gun and continue with his plans.
